I had kind of a hard time understanding what was going on at the end when the camera broke away from him. However, the shots were good and so was the editing. Very creative!
Great job for using all one shot for your video. The way you looped it back together was neat and I think we can all relate that sometimes we feel like this.
I think the concept was really interesting. I enjoyed the long show of him walking in and the treatment when he walks up and then we start walking with him. I also enjoyed some of the sound treatment during that time. I think once he goes in the classroom it seems like a whole different video. It didn't quite fit. I was confused when we went from following him walking to his perspective ( I think that's what happened).
I liked the editing, but I think that the shot where the camera leaves the building was a bit awkward because, it never turned at the door, so it was kind of like walking backward. Overall effective thoguh.
It was an interesting way to shoot it, I did enjoy it. I liked the clock time change in the corner, and the voice helped keep me interested in the middle. Good job.
I really liked your smooth cuts, they were so convincing of it being one shot! The beginning section of him walking down the side walk could have been shortened quite a bit. I also wished there was a little bit more of a story involved.
I liked how you followed your concept pretty well. I wish that the scene where you were going backwards in time back to when Andy was on the side walk had been sped up or shortened a little. I also wish that Andy had had a notebook or textbook with him when he was in the classroom to make him being in a class more believable.
Strong idea for a video. I was confused at the end right before the bookend. I liked the clock while he was sitting in class although it would have been more powerful if more people had been incorporated into it . I just felt like maybe he was early for class or had arrived on the wrong day.
Cool concept for the video. I know you guys said you wanted one continuous shot, but i feel the way you went about it was very good. Was a little confused by some of it, but i suppose that could have been seen as part of the dream.
I like the idea of this but I wish there was more narrative. The set-up is slow getting us into the building. The jump cuts were a good idea to use the single shot style without binding yourself to a single shot. Most of the narrative came from the classroom but it felt uninspired. Even though you used the clock to move time forward, it didn't seem believable. It felt like a shot for the sake of the plot point and not organic. I did love the transition where the camera breaks away and returns us back to the beginning.

ReplyDeleteIt was a good choice to not do it all in one take but you did a good job of making it look that way.

ReplyDeleteThis got the idea across and i think it was a great choice to have the ending rewrap back to the beginning. It felt as if it fit just perfect.

ReplyDeleteI liked the camera movement, it was a little shake but nice job trying to keep it smooth. Good job group.

ReplyDeleteI don't know how I feel about this video. It was like when you watch a Indie video for the first time.
