Documentary Pitch

Title
New To You Consignment: Beyond the Clothes (Maybe, let me know if you have any suggestions)

Tagline
You never know what's on the next rack (again, If you have any other suggestions)

Concept:

This Documentary would be focused on Sharla Weldy, owner of "New To You Consignment" in Wakarusa.  we will be speaking with Sharla, her husband and two kids about how she got into the business and how it has been growing ever since.  Having a faithful following of customers and having expanded the store in 2012 she will be able to to speak on the success of her business.  I would like to set up multiple cameras while interviewing her and her family to get a nice range of different kinds of shots.  I don't want the interview questions being asked to appear in the final edit so it has the feeling of them speaking candidly about each topic.  Also I would like some photographs of the shop in its early stages to show the changes and growth of the business since it has opened.  If possible I would like to interview some customers about the quality of items that are found in the shop.

Some questions to be asked:

What intrigued you into getting involved in this business?
In the beginning, were there any doubts about opening?
How has this affected you and your family?
What mistakes have you made that might have affected the shop?
What would you have done differently if you could and why?
What have you learned that others might not know about running a business?
What was the happiest moment you have had since opening?
What was the scariest moment you have had since opening?
Tell us a story about the history of this place.
Where did you come from to get here and where do you return to when you leave?
Who helped contribute to your success and how?
How have you changed as a person since opening?
Tell us what in in your store and what we can expect to see.
How does your family feel about your role in this?
How will you preserve the memories of this place?
How do you feel at the end of the day?
How do you think others see you as a professional?
How do you see yourself?
How do you want others to see you as a professional?

  2. This is good preparation for you and your team. I think the tagline needs to represent something about community and relationships. The tagline combined with the title now makes it seem like it's about finding a good deal. I'm sure that's part of their store but your pitch reflected a deeper connection between store and customer.
